A Little Trouble

March has been acting up.

Not in a dramatic way.
Just in small, quiet ways that feel…
slightly unauthorized.

I’m not making a big thing out of March.

I’m just noticing:
the kitchen is warmer,
the light stays longer,
and the soup tastes better than it did last month.

That’s all.

The Return to Soup

There are weeks when you want to be interesting.

And weeks when you want to be fed.

I like the part where the kitchen gets quiet again.

The knife goes down.
The stove stays on low.
The room smells like something that’s trying—
but not too hard.

March makes people restless.

Soup makes people steady.

And sometimes that’s the whole point:
not to be impressive…
just to be warm.
